Daytrips from Nice

Are you going to Nice soon? Eventhough Nice itself is beautiful, you should really visit some places around Nice by train or bus!

Monaco and Menton

First, I think everyone has Monaco on their list and I would definitely recommend visiting it. It seems like you enter a totally different world and you can feast your eyes on the beautiful buildings, cars and yachts. During this day trip a visit to the casino can of course not be missed. As a visitor you can enter the first part of the casino, where there are beautiful works of art. If you want to visit the actual casino, you will have to buy tickets there. Behind the casino you have a very nice view of the sea and a part of the harbor and I would definitely recommend taking a look. Finally, a visit to the harbor can not be missed. In Monaco you can spend about half a day, so you can easily combine Monaco with other cities.

We chose to combine Monaco with Menton, Menton is a little further away than Monaco, but you can easily get there by train. Menton is a very nice city with cute little shopping streets with many souvenir stores. Menton is known for its beautiful colored houses on the coast. I would also recommend walking along the promenade, because it is definitely worth it.

Eze

My absolute favorite day trip from Nice is Eze. I really fell in love with this town. Despite the fact that the ride there was a bit of a hassle for us, because the bus was too full to reach it. Therefore we had to take the train, this resulted however in us ending up at the beach of Eze and here is incredibly beautiful view, but not much else to do. This meant that we had to take a bus up the mountain, which took about half an hour, but when we finally arrived at Eze Village, we were pleasantly surprised. It is so nice! We decided to go to the exotic garden first, this only costs six euros for students. Here we enjoyed incredibly beautiful views of the exotic garden itself and the sea. It is definitely worth a visit! After that we decided to go shopping in the narrow, medieval streets for nice souvenirs. This certainly succeeded in the nice stores you can find in Eze Village. I recommend putting Eze at the top of your list of day trips, because it is definitely worth it.

Cannes

Then Cannes, an incredibly nice city with nice shopping streets, a nice harbor and an incredibly beautiful viewpoint over the city. In addition, it is of course the site of the film festival and this is reflected in the city. Moreover, you can buy your new designer bag here, because expensive stores are plenty. A short day trip is enough.

Villefranche Sur Mer

And finally, Villefranche sur mer, an incredibly nice village, with beautiful views of the sea and again incredibly nice shopping streets. It gives you a real French coastal feeling. In addition, there are plenty of terraces where you can eat and drink. Also for this, a morning or afternoon is enough.
